“Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky”
Kahlil Gibran
By making music myself, I try to catch a glimpse of eternity and share it with others who need this extremely fine ability that comes with listening to or making (live) music.
Music says what words cannot and allows inevitable wisdom to grow and flourish.
Music is the evocation of the ephemeral.
Anna
“A great song should lift your heart, warm the soul and make you feel good.”
Colbie Caillat
Anna Nuytten is a classically trained singer (alto, mezzo-soprano) and graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, where she studied with Hendrickje Van Kerckhove. She studied piano in Corsica (France), among other places, where she obtained a “Diplôme de fin d’Etudes”.
She works as a singing teacher and piano teacher, in other words she gives piano lessons and singing lessons in Wervik, to both beginning students and more advanced or developed musicians, on a regular or less regular basis (once a week or every two weeks). She teaches in Dutch, French or English. In Poperinge, she teaches at the academy, in the jazz/pop department.
Thanks to her background as an organist and cantor, eight years as a musician for the churches of the Wervik/Geluwe federation (Sint-Medardus, Sint-Jozef, Heilig Hart and Sint-Dionysius), she also listens, by accompanying herself on the piano, to ceremonial events, weddings and funerals, events, receptions, art exhibitions, festivities, restaurant visits, dinners or private occasions, aperitif concerts, openings, musical walks… in Wervik, Kortrijk, Roeselare, Ypres, Lille, Bruges, Northern France, Poperinge, drawing on a repertoire that includes classical wedding music and funeral music, as well as more contemporary pieces and pop songs.
In 2019, she founded the duo Coordonné with lutenist Thomas Langlois, with which she promotes early music at home and abroad, especially Renaissance and early Baroque pieces from Italian, French and English music history, as well as newer, more contemporary pieces, written or arranged for lute and voice. Their idiosyncratic way of making music is particularly evident in atypical, sometimes surprising colours and twists.
Anna also sings in various chamber music ensembles such as Saevus, conducted by Johannes Dewilde, Ex tempore, conducted by Florian Heyerick, Swara Vocal Ensemble, conducted by Ivan Yohan, Lyra di Orfeo, conducted by Christian Nuytten, and Ghent Singers, conducted by Helen Cassano, among others, and founded by Jolien De Gendt. With these ensembles and choirs, she sings both polyphonic repertoire (de Wert, Lassus…) and Baroque (Bach, Handel, Graupner…), classical (Mendelssohn, Brahms, Beethoven) and contemporary pieces such as Rainbow by Nazanin Fakoor or Choir Piece by Felix Kindermann.
On this website, you can find her schedule, as well as that of Coordonné, and make a booking for a ceremony, funeral, private lesson or to book Coordonné. You will find contact details and photos, her biography and audio clips to give you a good idea of her very diverse repertoire.
