“Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky”

Kahlil Gibran

Beauty! And power! I believe that music contains authenticity and truth; that music enhances colors, softens the world, makes it more powerful, enlightens and communicates through time. It grasps the power of the now, of man, and leaves a bold mark.

Making music myself allows me to try and catch a glimpse of eternity, and to share it with others who are in need of this extremely fine ability that comes with listening to or making (live) music.

Music says what words cannot and inevitably make growth and blossoming possible.

Music gives memory to the ephemeral moment.

Anna

“A great song should lift your heart, warm the soul and make you feel good.”

Colbie Caillat

Anna Nuytten is a classically trained singer (alto, mezzo-soprano) and graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Ghent with Hendrickje Van Kerckhove. She studied piano in, among others, Corsica (France), where she obtained a ‘Diplôme de fin d’Etudes‘.

She functions as a singing teacher and piano teacher, so in other words she teaches piano and singing lessons in Wervik, to both beginning students and more advanced or developed musicians, on a regular or less regular basis (once a week or every two weeks). She teaches in Dutch, French or English. In Poperinge she teaches at the academy, for the jazz/pop department.

Because of her background as organist and cantor, eight years musician for the churches of the federation Wervik/Geluwe (Sint-Medardus, Sint-Jozef, Heilig Hart and Sint-Dionysius), she also listens by accompanying herself on piano, ceremonial events, weddings and funerals, events, receptions, art exhibitions, festivities, restaurant visits, dinners or private occasions, aperitif concerts, openings, musical walks… at Wervik, Kortrijk, Roeselare, Ieper, Rijsel/Lille, Bruges, Northern France, Poperinge, drawing from a repertoire that includes classical wedding music as funeral music but also more contemporary pieces and pop songs.

In 2019 she founded the duo Coordonné with lutenist Thomas Langlois, with which she promotes early music at home and abroad, especially renaissance as early baroque pieces from Italian, French and English music history as well as newer, more contemporary pieces, written or arranged for lute and voice. Their idiosyncratic way of making music manifests itself mainly in atypical, sometimes surprising colors and twists.

Finally, Anna sings in various chamber music ensembles such as Saevus, conducted by Johannes Dewilde, Ex tempore, conducted by Florian Heyerick, Swara Vocal Ensemble conducted by Ivan Yohan, Lyra di Orfeo, conducted by Christian Nuytten, Ghent Singers, conducted by among others Helen Cassano, founded by Jolien De Gendt. With these ensembles and choirs she sings polyphonic repertoire (de Wert, Lassus…) as well as baroque (Bach, Handel, Graupner…), classical (Mendelssohn, Brahms, Beethoven) or contemporary pieces such as Rainbow by Nazanin Fakoor or Choir Piece by Felix Kindermann.

On this website you can find her agenda, like Coordonné’s, and make a booking for a ceremony as well as a funeral, private lessons or to book Coordonné. You can find contact details and photos, her biography and audio fragments, to get a good idea of her very diverse repertoire.
